The Shahnameh

View this post on Instagram

In the Shahnameh, the epic chronicle of Iranian history, Persian history starts with Gaya Maretan who is the first Persian king. In some traditions he is referred to as the first mortal. It is said that during his reign that there were people in the mountains wearing skins and leaves. They gathered fruits and plants for food. This is when animals were first domesticated. During this age Gaya Maretan brought civilization and the focus on Mazda, the one God. (Zoroaster was a later reformer of the Mazdayasni faith). In the epic the story is told of Ahriman (Angra Mainyu who eventually was changed into the chief deity of evil and head div) was the leader of a contingent of div worshipers. They went to war against Gaya Maretan and wanted to seize the throne. In this first battle Gaya Maretan lost his son Siyamak. Gaya Maretan later regrouped his army under his grandson Haoshyangha and defeated the div worshipers. Though he won this battle later throughout the epic there are more battles between the ancient Persians and the Div worshipers and the Div them selves. Some of these div worshipers and divs are those who went into ancient India making the div "positive" as "daevas". Gaya Maretan's legacy was the development of national governance, kingship, civilization and enforcement of the law against the Div (the Avesta, the scriptures of Zoroastrianism). Again refer to my article "The Devil in Persia and the Near East" to see who the div were identified with some of the first white tribes that invaded ancient Persia. #GayaMaretan #AegeanEvent #ScienceOfSelf
