DIY inner planet garden
For the urban vegan on the go you have to keep your rest stocked with the right stuff. One plant (in addition to the previously mentioned mint) that you should keep in stock is aloe. If you get a burn, or small cut, or just general skin irritation you can snap off a piece of aloe and let that gel do its magic. If you're a cook (and you know you need to be) then keep that plant near you in the kitchen.
Another thing is that they have developed an aloe vera food preservative gel.
Researchers at the University of Miguel Hernández in Alicante, Spain, have developed a gel based on Aloe vera that prolongs the conservation of fresh produce, such as fresh fruit and legumes. This gel is tasteless, colorless and odorless. This natural product is a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic preservatives such as sulfur dioxide. The study showed that grapes at 1°C coated with this gel could be preserved for 35 days against 7 days for untreated grapes. According to the researchers, this gel operates through a combination of mechanics (Serrano et al., 2006), forming a protective layer against the oxygen and moisture of the air and inhibiting, through its various antibiotic and antifungal compounds, the action of micro-organisms that cause foodborne illnesses.

Now listen to my man Aloe Blacc sing about catching the bus which all of us non rim spining, non-candy paint, non-car brothers who like to match our energy conversation with our swagger take (and if you're nice we'll meet up where transfers coincide and catch the sights on the line).
